Kings Park Moonlight Cinema

Each year from early December through to mid March Kings Park hosts an open air cinema screening a mixture of movies. From new releases, to contemporary, classic or cult films. This is on the langs of the tranquil Synergy Parklands at Kings Park.

Gates open at 7pm and as the sun sets the movie starts (usually around 8.30pm).

Jason and I went to see the latest James Bond movie and decided to go "Gold Grass", which means for $30 you get wine, premium reserved seating and a bean bed to watch the movie on. It was great... although it was also fun watching people lug in all sorts to watch the movies on... we even saw a student bring his mattress, complete with its fitted sheet :-)

Here is the screen:
And this is Jason and I relaxing on our bean beds waiting for the sun to go down...

Jason catching a few zzzzzz's before the movie starts.

And us totally relaxed!
A great way to watch a movie as long as you remember the insect repellent. It got a bit cold (by our new Perth standards), and dropped to around 18 degrees, so we even got to snuggle under a blanket as well.
